Nutan Fatania secures minimal sentence for young and vulnerable defendant

Nutan Fatania represented a young and vulnerable Defendant at the Central Criminal Court where he was sentenced after trial for causing the death of a 14 year old child by dangerous driving, causing a death whilst unlicensed and uninsured as well as aggravated vehicle taking. Significant mitigation was put forward on the basis the Defendant was 17 years old at the time of the offence, had developmental disorders resulting in him presenting as younger than his age and that he had encountered difficult personal circumstances in his childhood.

The Defendant was sentenced to a total of 2 years and 9 months’ imprisonment for all matters.
