Emma-Louise Heath successfully responds to an application by His Majesty’s Attorney General for leave to refer an Unduly Lenient Sentence (ULS)

17 April 2024

Emma represented an 18-year-old sentenced before the Maidstone Crown Court in January 2024 for multiple offences, including aggravated burglary. The Attorney General referred the matter to the Court of Appeal as unduly lenient on two grounds. Following a hearing in the Court of Appeal Criminal Division in April 2024, the Court refused the application made by the Attorney General and did not find that the sentence passed could be considered unduly lenient.

Gerry McDonald of EBR Attridge instructed Emma.
