Jordan Santos-Sindes secures acquittal for defendant charged with section 18 GBH following 4-day trial at Wood Green Crown Court.

15 July 2022

The complainant was attacked, unprovoked in his home whereby he was beaten to the head with a weapon. The complainant identified the defendant as the suspect and gave his street name. The complainant suffered from mental health issues and therefore in order to achieve their best evidence a section 28 hearing was required. Jordan was instructed to conduct the section 28 hearing and subsequent trial. During the trial it was successfully argued that the defendant’s previous convictions, in which he had beaten someone to the head with a weapon, ought to be excluded. Following trial, the defendant was acquitted.

Jordan was instructed by Mel Stooks of GT Stewart.
