PANEL DISCUSSION: International Criminal Investigations in the Digital Age – Advantages, Pitfalls and Problems

10 November 2023

Thank you to everyone who took part in our panel discussion ‘International Criminal Investigations in the Digital Age: Advantages, Pitfalls and Problems’, in person and online yesterday.

The discussion led by Gillian Higgins (9BR Chambers) was a great success. Special thank you to our panellists, Kirsty Sutherland (9BR Chambers), Henrietta Wilson (SOAS University of London), Nick Waters  (Bellingcat), George Katz (Bellingcat) and Paul Oakley (Quintel Intelligence Limited), for their valuable contributions to the open source topic.

We hope that this panel has been informative and has shed light on the importance of open source evidence and investigations, the political and ethical dilemmas associated with the subject matter of investigations, the credibility of those who investigate, issues of admissibility in trials and the current challenges facing those conducting investigations in Ukraine.

If you were unable to attend in person or virtually, a recording of the panel is available to watch here:
