Amy’s hard work, understanding of the law and measured approach has earned her numerous plaudits from clients and solicitors. Her client care is widely recognised; particularly her extensive experience representing young and vulnerable clients charged with serious crimes.

She is a passionate, committed advocate, with an outstanding court advocacy with a reputation for being versatile in her approach. Her clear, focused advice and persuasive trial advocacy means she is regularly instructed as sole counsel across a range of allegations, including fraud, violence, drugs, and sexual offences.

As a led junior Amy, represented a client accused of over 20 counts of sexual offences of a minor, including rape of family members, in a 4-week trial. Amy has also been led in a multi-handed a confiscation trial at the Royal Courts of Justice following convictions for fraud offences totalling £60 million with evidence from live witnesses, experts and defendants being considered.

Amy has a particular interest in working with young or otherwise particularly vulnerable witnesses and defendants in the criminal justice system. She has represented youths accused of a range of offences including robbery, drug supply and violent offences. Amy has on several occasions persuaded the CPS to discontinue criminal proceedings against youth defendants charged with serious offences by means of early and robust written representations.

She is also is a registered Case Presenter. Amy has extensive experience in interim order hearings, and multi-day substantive hearings in cases involving clinical misconduct, serious dishonesty and sexual misconduct. She provides advice at every stage of the legal process, including the investigation stage, interim order hearings, substantive hearings, registration appeals and substantive order reviews.

As a Case Presenter, Amy prepares and presents cases before NMC disciplinary committees. She has developed a strong understanding of regulatory law, practise and procedure, as well as sound knowledge of the rules of evidence.

Disciplinary and Regulatory

NMC v R

4-day Substantive Hearing, representing the NMC in a case where a nurse was found to be on duty whilst under the influence of drugs. The nurse was found to be impaired by reasons of health and conditions of practice were imposed.

NMC v M

7-day Substantive Hearing, representing the NMC in a fitness to practise hearing. The registered nurse failed to sufficiently identify risks during an assessment for patient that later died. Conditions of practice were imposed.

NMC v K

Representing the NMC in an 8-day Substantive Hearing concerning a registered nurse stealing medications from Hospitals and Patients. The nurse’s fitness to practise was found to be impaired and the nurse was stuck off from the Register.

NMC v T

3-day Interim Order Hearing concerning a registered nurse facing multiple allegations of historic and recent sexual abuse. The Panel imposed an interim suspension order.

R v A, 2025

Amy defended a client accused of failing to provide a specimen after been arrested by police on suspicion of drink driving. At trial, Amy robustly cross-examined the arresting officer, and custody sergeant in order to challenge the lawfulness of the arrest. After trial the defendant was acquitted.

Stratford Magistrates Court

R v D, 2025

Amy, defended a client who had received notification of disqualification from the single justice procedure. Following extensive legal argument, Amy successfully reduced the financial element of the sentence of 0, and ensured the client received the minimum term of disqualification.

Amy defended a client charged with PWITs class B, having found to have discarded 20- 40 bags of cannabis and packaging weighing 285gs.On the day of trial, following submissions on the prosecution’s evidence, the Crown offered no evidence on PWITs and accepted a plea to simple possession. D received a suspended sentence.

Amy defended a client who faced trial for a series of drug offences including possession with intent to supply. After several written applications focusing on disclosure and modern slavery exploitation relating to the client, the prosecution offered no evidence against the defendant on all counts prior to the trial commencing.

Amy defended a client accused of possession of a false identity document whilst opening a bank account. After a 3-day trial the defendant was acquitted unanimously.

R v K, 2025

Amy defended a client who pleaded guilty to carrying two imitation firearms in a public place, and offences of manufacturing/modifying/selling/bringing into Great Britain a Realistic Imitation Firearm. After detailed mitigation the client received a suspended sentence.

R v S, 2024

Amy defended a client accused of possession of a firearm, ammunition and drugs at trial. The trial involved expert evidence on cross-contamination and secondary transfer of DNA.

R v L, 2024

Amy was led in a 4-week trial alleging 20 counts of sexual offences of a minor, including rape of family members.

Snaresbrook Crown Court

R v O, 2023

Amy defended a client accused of sexual assault in a shopping centre. After trial the defendant was acquitted on all counts.

Amy defended a client in a 3-day trial who was accused of assault occasioning actual bodily harm during an altercation in a corner shop. After a 3-day trial, the defendant was acquitted.

Kingston Crown Court

R v D, 2024

Amy represented a defendant accused of robbery. After robust written and oral submissions in relation to the ID parade evidence the prosecution offered no evidence the count of robbery and defendant was acquitted. 

Woolwich Crown Court 

R v K, 2024

Amy defended a client charged with 2 counts of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and 1 count of intentional strangulation. After a 2-day trial the prosecution offered no evidence following Defence Representations and the defendant was acquitted of all counts.

Woolwich Crown Court, 2024

Amy defended a client accused of stalking involving fear of violence or serious alarm or distress, criminal damage and threatening to send an intimate image. Following successful submission of no case to answer the prosecution offered no evidence on the charge of criminal damage. At the conclusion of the trial, the defendant was acquitted of the more serious offence of stalking involving fear of violence or serious alarm or distress and found guilty of the lesser alternative of stalking. The jury acquitted the defendant of the remaining counts of threatening to send an intimate image. The defendant received a sentence that amounted to time served.

R v B, 2022

Amy represented a 15 year old charged with arson with intent to endanger life, and possession of an offensive weapon. The case involved multi-agency engagement with a vulnerable youth and modern slavery defence was raised. Amy made robust written submissions early on in proceedings. On day one of the trial the prosecution offered no evidence.

Manchester Youth Court

R v R, 2022

Amy represented a 14-year-old charged with possession of a controlled drugs and driving without a licence and without insurance. Following submission to the CPS inviting them to consider if it was in the public interest to prosecute the prosecution offered no evidence.

  • Associated Work Government Legal Department 'Junior Junior' Scheme

Amy is instructed by the Government Legal Department in discovery exercises on large cases.

  • Serious Fraud Office Disclosure Counsel – March 2020 – June 2021

Amy has worked on a complex bribery and corruption cases with the Serious Fraud Office. In a multinational bribery case, Amy reviewed and analysed evidence for the ongoing large-scale investigation. The case was a multi handed, cross-jurisdictional investigation, which required assessing and evaluating the relevance and key issues whilst identifying and describing supporting and undermining/ assist points within the evidence. Amy is trained in and familiar with using Introspect software to carry disclosure exercises whilst handling highly sensitive information pertaining to legal proceeding in accordance with the highest standards of data protection and privacy standards.

  • Bank of England – June 2021

Amy carried out disclosure enquires on behalf of the Bank of England in relation to their fraud investigations arising from the Covid-19 pandemic.

  • Regional FA Disciplinary Panel Member – October 2023 – ongoing

Having sat as a Disciplinary Panel Member for the London FA, Amy was appointed to be a Regional FA Disciplinary Panel Member. Amy forms part of a panel that adjudicates on disciplinary matters for County Football Associations arising from FA regulated football matches in accordance with FA Disciplinary Regulations. The hearings involve misconduct charges where an incident is reported which does not fall under standard (red card) dismissal offences, or it is a serious offence involving allegations relating to on and off-field conduct.

  • Member of the Swim England Judicial Panel – August 2024 - ongoing

Amy is an appointed member of the Swim England Judicial Panel. She forms part of a panel that adjudicates on alleged misconduct, maladministration or a breach of Swim England’s Regulations.

  • Member of The Sport Resolutions Pro Bono Legal Advice Panel - July 2024 - ongoing

Amy provides summary advice and representation in relation to athlete eligibility, selection, disciplinary, anti-doping and classification matters as part of the Pro Bono Legal Advice Panel. The individuals are either involved in UK Sport funded high performance sport, and request assistance from the Panel through the British Athletes Commission, or; are involved in proceedings administered by Sport Resolutions (UK).
