Ellie Rush

Ellie studied Law at Lancaster University before completing her Bar Course at the City Law School alongside her Master's.

During and after her studies she worked as a paralegal on employer’s and public liability claims, particularly historic abuse claims. She also assisted a King’s Counsel in personal injury claims, where she developed her written advocacy and helped prepare for trials.

Before commencing pupillage, Ellie spent two years at a criminal defence firm, specialising in serious sexual offences, indecent images and violent offences. She assisted with the preparation of magistrates’ and Crown Court trials, regularly attended court and engaged with clients in conference. She was also heavily involved in pre-charge casework, helping prepare and draft representations to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Ellie has worked with many vulnerable clients, both as a paralegal and through pro bono work with refugees. She is also an active advocate, having been a semi-finalist in the Alexander Cameron KC Mock Criminal Trial Competition and placed second out of 128 participants in the National Speed Mooting Autumn Cup.
