Abbas Lakha KC represented JV who was charged with being involved in a number of conspiracies to import vast quantities of Class A drugs into the UK.
V was described by the Prosecution as the Head of the Dutch end of the conspiracy and was said to have been involved in the delivery of 100’s of kilos of Class A drugs concealed in fruit and vegetables from his warehouse.
Abbas negotiated a basis of plea which resulted in a very significant reduction in sentence which allows JV to return to the Netherlands to serve the balance of his sentence having already been in custody on remand for 4 years.
