We are delighted to announce that Heidi Stonecliffe KC, door tenant at 9BR Chambers, has been elected as the Chair of the Bar Council for 2027.
Heidi practiced in criminal defence work for 10 years until 2006 when she joined the Crown Prosecution Service as an advocate.
She is an elected member of the Bar Council and a former Chair of the Employed Barrister’s Committee.
In May 2025, she was elected as Vice Chair of the Bar Council for 2026. Heidi was the first employed practitioner to be elected to this role in 132 years.
Heidi will lead a third all female officer team of the Bar Council, with Claire Davies KC elected as Vice Chair and Lucinda Orr elected as Treasurer.
