Katie Mustard represented a young man with no previous convictions alleged to have sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl who was walking home from the train station.
The prosecution’s case was that the Defendant spoke to the girl at the station, then waited for her up the road before forcefully kissing and groping her breasts in a quiet lane.
The Defendant faced three separate charges of sexual assault. Careful analysis of the CCTV helped to challenge the prosecution case theory and helped Katie to demonstrate that the young girl’s recollection of events was not necessarily accurate.
Katie’s client was unanimously acquitted by the jury.
Katie was instructed by Nicola Hobdell of Lawtons Solicitors.
