Sophie Stevens has been elected to the Bar Council as an Elected Subscriber for a one year term that commenced this week (1st January 2026).
Sophie has been elected as a self-employed Junior under seven years in practice. Sophie has been involved in championing and pushing for change and inclusivity in the profession since the very start of her career at the Bar, having been called to the Bar by Middle Temple in 2022. Her main focus has been her work on Neurodiversity, where she is currently a Trustee and co-founder of the Charity Neurodiversity in Law. Further, she has spent time inspiring future generations through volunteering for projects such as the Young Citizens Mock Trial competition and mentoring schemes. She is currently a member of Chambers’ Equality and Diversity Committee.
Sophie is delighted to have been elected and hopes that by being a member she can continue this work and support The Bar Council’s vision for a strong, inclusive, independent and influential Bar.
