Zacharias Miah’s client was acquitted of allegations of assisting unlawful immigration following a 9-week trial at Birmingham Crown Court. The Director of a company was accused of assisting unlawful immigration to a member state under S25 Immigration Act 1971.
The Prosecution alleged an accountant who was previously authorised as by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner with Directors of various companies provided false employment for immigration applications for spousal settlement visas.
It was alleged the accountant had set up a web of client directors to facilitate unlawful immigration with a sophisticated system of fraudulent documentation, international links and know-how of the immigration services.
After a lengthy trial the Director was acquitted. Zacharias was instructed by Mumin Hashim of Hayfield Law and Solicitors.
