Max Hardy represents Andrew Malkinson in successful appeal

In 2004 Andrew Malkinson was wrongfully convicted of serious sexual offences in Manchester. In 2006 his conviction was upheld on appeal. From arrest he asserted his innocence, that he was not present when the offences occurred, and that DNA evidence would prove his innocence.

On 26 July, following a reference by the CCRC, the Court of Appeal quashed the convictions in light of DNA evidence found on the victim's clothing from another identified person. The appeal was not challenged by the Crown on this ground. Full judgment has been reserved in relation to other grounds advanced by Mr Malkinson.

Max Hardy was led by Edward Henry KC (Mountford Chambers) instructed by Emily Bolton of APPEAL.
